I have been looking at thrift stores and department stores for over a year now and have yet to find a turbo oven or it's equivalent. Are they an Australian product?

CHAD you know most products get there start in the US first

Try a search for Sunpentown Digital Convection Oven or Flavorwave Turbo oven

Some are Halogen/convection ovens
Some also come with Infrared

CHAD,

I too searched for quite a while. My dear wife found a Galloping Gourmet model (used) on eBay for around $50. It looks maybe 5-10 years old or so. It, among other projects, is moving slowly on my workbench. They're out there -- happy hunting.

Here are some agitator photos and videos of the KKTO

It has taken a lot of my time to come up with an all round performer

Test one:
Single blade agitator with guide & softening spring fitted to bottom
http://www.youtub...21O5bED9NM

The beans used in this test are the worst graded beans I have ever had (small, med, large, broken, deformed, and some stones)
However they produce one of the best coffees I have tasted Sumatra Mandheling Takengon Organic 700gr

Test Two:
Double sided or full agitator blade & softening spring fitted to bottom edge

http://www.youtub..._ewkisDF5o

The beans used are PNG Elephant 700gr before roasting them today

The tension spring reduces noise, Its smoother running, Adjustment for height is not as critical, Alleviates occasional green beans that jamb under the blade

Watch the red and brown beans mixing motor speed @ 68 rpm

Hey KK!

Looking good! How do I buy the parts? I starting building a roaster based on your inspiration last year, but got sidetracked by a bigger hobby -- massive restoration of a 36' sailing catamaran. Now the sailing is great, but the coffee needs work. Your parts are what I need to get the caffeine up to snuff.

I can organise the parts for you Rob
We made all the components in lots of 30 to keep costs down

It depends on what parts you need
Most people in the US are enquiring about the kit without the pots & Turbo Oven to save on postage and purchase the rest of the components close to home

Latest Update

Web Site Launched
koffeekosmo.com.au

Over the last 7 months we have Beta tested the Koffee Kosmo kit roaster

The original design has stood the rigorous tests that 20 beta testers undertook
Some have posted there testimonials on the site

Only one small design change was made to the agitator from the original production run
And a couple of tweaks or enhancements

Its the simple things that can make something that's already good to something great

The only actual design change to the original is a dual blade agitator with springs

I would class the high temp silicone tubing to prevent the possibility of escaping heat as an enhancement

We have also strengthened the main drive gear to cope with extra stress

In conclusion the roaster works time and time again producing

Shop quality roasts of decent capacity [700 gr +]
Ability to do Back to back roasts [one beta tester did 6 back to back roasts]
Collects the chaff inside the unit so its not messy
The design can be used with a heat gun as the heat source
The base hub component can be used to make several alternative roaster styles

I am proud of this design and I wish to thank the Home Roaster / coffee enthusiast community that has helped & encouraged me to push on to produce a kit

Well its here now

Regards
KK
