Is there a profile for a 'Cupping Roast,' like 'they' use to sample and review coffee, cup, and provide us with all the glorious nuanced flavor characteristics? I know the roast is light, just past first crack, but is there any standard profile to get there?

Don't put the cart before the horse. Put the horse in the cart and listen to him say "weeeee" all the way down the hill.

the folks @ Royal Coffee are using a 4 or 6 drum (memory is foggy)Probat 1/2lb sample drum roaster. The little info I have is that the process takes about 9 minutes. http://www.probat...sters.html

Does someone watch the temperature and adjust the heat during roasting?

Jim Schulman has posted several times about his light roasting approach for P1 poppers. They make sense to me, and I like using only 150g when experimenting with light roasts -- not much waste if anything gets out of control.
I can dig up my notes if you're interested in how I tried to match some of his profiles. |

My PII will end first crack in 7~8 minutes, another 2 or 3 to second crack. My Westinghouse will get to first crack in 4 minutes.

If you split heat and fan either of those should work. |
