So far I've only run across the worst shops. I fondly remember this one mediocre place.... now, what was it's name?

CHAD

*edit: and then there's this idea that may or may not work out:

Don't put the cart before the horse. Put the horse in the cart and listen to him say "weeeee" all the way down the hill.

Here's a couple in Colorado not far from me who roast their own and can do a great job of keeping quality first:

The one that got me turned into a coffee fanatic in the early 80's.
http://brewingmar...-colorado/

They roasted in the shop and after tasting their liquid gold roasted in a Probat L12 and brewed through some of the older style Fetco's I just had to find a way to roast at home. Their roastmaster was kind enough to give me pointers on getting a good roast in small batches.

Another one who does a great job and roasts in-house:

I've been to Espresso Vivace in Seattle, one of the ten listed, but I prefer Cafe Allegro, just across the main entrance to Seattle University. It was the inspiration for Starbucks.

I can attest to folks being out and about. Me and Julie were out hitting the garden centers for loading flower pots all day. Nice weather! Tomorrow the Kamado/egg gets fired up! bbq
