Chad,
The TERRAZU will do well with a medium roast and longer off gassing too. It's a wonderful Costa Rican bean that has an entire range of aromatics. I often can smell chocolate after a day or two of roasting it.

Morning All!
Tanzania Peaberry, Mt Meru was the coffe of the morning. My wife called it a Morning Orchestra. Great from start through finish! I roasted this into the start of the second crack and this is definitely a keeper when it comes to a morning wake-up

Good morning, drinking a yummy cup of Antigua with less than 24 hours on it. Got the greenies from Klatch and roasted to a full city yesterday in my Hottop. Might pull some shots with this in a day or two. |

Drinking a 50/50 blend of Mexican Chiapas and Guatemala Ceylan. I find the Guatemalan very bright and a bit acidic. Blending it with the milder Chiapas really makes a nice cup for a pour-over. |

Mexican SHG Pluma Oaxaca 'don Eduardo'
FC, 4 days rest, old school popcorn pumper; vacpot w/ cory rod.
Tightly sealed in the back of my deep freezer was a little bag of the 5lbs I bought through CHAD so long ago: http://homeroaste...rowstart=0.
On Father's Day, my beloved and the kids said, "Dad, take a break, head down to the basement and do some special roasts."
So, I pulled out this chocolate bomb and a special Ethiopian (still resting).
Since its been frozen for a while, I had my doubts... but no worries! So VERY delightful.
Cheers,
David

I am new to 'tasting' the nuances of coffee.
That said ... the other day I tasted sourness in a still pleasant cup of this coffee. Without an expert around to double check me, I am thinking that is the lemoney taste.
Anyway, that was Friday, and today I didn't taste it.
It was just yummy rich and chocolaty.

Some Ethiopia Harrar this morning. Just roasted up a batch of my espresso blend, which should be good to go in a few days, and another batch of bolivia for drip and french press. will try that tomorrow morning.

Amro Gayo from Ethiopia today.
Only 2 days post roast about 2min into first crack.
For such a light roast it still has a good body.
It's no where near peak but I could not resist.
Even at this early stage it's fruity pebble licious.
Well now........ that's not suppose to happen!

Wow, this sounds like an amazing coffee even if half of the positive cupping notes are accurate. I'll keep an eye for it in the future.
I ordered some Guatemala Finca La Esmeralda Red Bourbon from them a few days ago and looking forward to roasting some when it arrives. I've never had any from this estate before but it sounds like a winner.

Ethiopian Sidamo Guji OCR Special Prep. Natural
roasted just into rolling first crack at 10minutes
roasted for pourover/syphon brewing
Amazing bean, clean and sweet with heaps of body, strawberry/fruit notes--really surprised me after the washed Yirgs citrus/floral flavours |

I started this thread almost 5 years ago after roasting my first batch. It's incredible to see all the great posts on what everyone is roasting. I've become a devotee to the African beans, Ethiopian, Kenyan, Etc. I love the sweet fruity overtones that they all seem to possess. Seems I'm not alone. Nice to see how many different descriptions can be gathered. Quest on!
