on the subject of shipping Ok, I just returned from the United Postal Workers of American, and the best that I could do to send some beans to my brother that what lives in NY was 4.95 in a Priority bubble pack envelope. So if it was me, and I was gonna use the postal service thats the way I would go. One of the 1 pound vented heat sealed bags full of roasted beans will fit with no problems. I pour Iron and roast Coffee Beans

Ok time to check in here, lets see who's sent out beans already besides me. I got mine out to Farmroast yesterday. if you can find them the Priority bubble pack envelopes work just great for a one pound size package of roasted beans, only problem is I found out that the post offices don't really have that envelope you have to order em up for USPS doesn't cost anything but they told me they can't order em. GO FIGURE. anyway Happy Holidays, I pour Iron and roast Coffee Beans

I'm not part of this bean swap, but just wanted to pop my head up and say thanks for the idea. I read this thread some time ago and realised I wouldn't be able to participate as I am in Australia and the import/export of roasted coffee beans can be problematic from a quarantine point of view as well as the long shipment times. Sooo, I took the idea and suggested a festive bean swap on the Crema forum that I participate in down here. I made a few changes to the format so as to mix things up a little and it seems to have been a success. I certainly got some good beans to try (two batches of same blend, roasted in different roasters). So thanks again for the idea. Ewan |
