Beans to David (dja) shipped out today. dja's Beans arrived Sat. with only 2 days rest. Brewed a cup but with the huge bloom they needed more rest. Brewed a cup today. The beans are a Burundi Yandaro bourbon. towards fc+ considering grind color. Mild intensity with chocolates, vanilla, cinn. spice. Brazilian like. Classic clean Burundi. The body gets creamy as the cup cools a bit with hints of red raspberry cherry. The roast flavor at this level added nicely to round out the cup. Should make a nice comfort Capp. with 4-5oz milk Thanks David. Edited by farmroast on 12/06/2011 4:51 PM Ed B.

3 and 3. Guatamalan indeed! You've guessed half the package. I use the small pouches just for freshness. I bet you'll guess the second half easily! Happy Holidays! -Scott |

The weather finally warmed up enough for me to crack a window for makeup air to the exhaust so I roasted yesterday and shipped today to Jkol. Should arrive on Monday if the post office can be trusted on ETA. Allen 1/2 lb and 1 lb drum, Siemens Sirocco fluidbed, presspot, chemex, cajun biggin brewer from the backwoods of Louisiana

Good guess Scott, Ethiopian it is and it might need a day or two to rest. The other one is good right now. Let me know if you guess my second? My second guess for yours is also an Ethiopian. Not a lot of fruit b/c of the degree of roast on this one but there is that wild character. Maybe Sidamo region? Thanks again, Greg Well now........ that's not suppose to happen!

received Farmroast beans yesterday, both smelled fantastic, nice even color on the beans. I brewed the Rawanda this morning and man this was a first for me on this beans, I thought that I had died and went to chocolate heaven, the flavor was there all the way thru from the minute that I could sip the brew from the cup till it was turning cold and I had to have some more. this one gets two thumbs up from me, now to just see if I can find some of it. The second bean that Ed sent I haven't tried yet. I pour Iron and roast Coffee Beans

I want to apologize for the screw up with the names and I will gladly take my scolding when Mis Ginny is ready to give it. I hope that eveyone enjoyed the beans that they received and that hopefully with the next swap that comes down the pike there will be more people join in. John I'm sorry that you couldn't join us in the fun, hope that your Surgery came off ok, and you can have your spot back as director of the holiday swap. And to all the members that didn't join in, you don't know what you missed. I learned this year from doing this, that my roaster is doing a hell of a lot better job then I thought it was. so happy roasting and Happy Holidays to all you roasters. David J. Allen I pour Iron and roast Coffee Beans

I also found an aromatically pleasing package at my door upon arrival at home today. A bag of Kenya Nyeri Kagumo-ini from Jkol. If aroma is any indicator this is going to be some amazing brewed coffee! Can't wait to brew a pot.
