The SCAA's flavor wheel is 18 years old now, and counterculture just released their own version, I think it's pretty neat, and slightly more visually appealing. The next time I cup my own coffee I'll have this printed out for reference. Do you think wheels like this are useful? If you're cupping to share the results, it's nice to have a common vocabulary -- and the larger the better. So yes to the new wheel. But if you're cupping for yourself only -- as I suspect most of us usually do -- whatever word or phrase is most evocative for you -- whether on the wheel or not -- is the right one.
