I am only a few hours away, so I am considering a drive to go for one day.
I have never been.
Is it worth it for me as a home roaster?
Do I need the whole event pass or just the USCC Arena?

Is there a better day to go?

What information could I read about to better inform me, if I do go?

On Sunday there are some deals on stuff that vendors so not want to pack up. Rumor has it that Hottop discounts their roasters there as well... ;-)

Life's too short to drink bad coffee.

It looks like all the vendors are not in the arena.

Go big. Full event pass. Check the schedule for the lectures or workshops that catch your interest. For a few bucks more and a short drive...totally worth it. It's roughly the same price as going to a concert these days.
(The concert tickets would not include coffee)

I am not close enough to go for more than a day and drive back. Staying overnight is not a viable option.

Yup, I hear 'ya. Check the schedule for the day that best suits your interests. If there are some lectures or classes that are interesting, it's likely worth the trip. Driving 3 hours to do a walk through might not be worthwhile.

If it came to Boston, I would be there!
