Just a few words to say “hi”. I’ve never roasted any coffee, and am not likely to any time soon, but I’m fascinated by it. Maybe I’ll eventually get a Gene Cafe or something equivalent. In the meanwhile I’ll lurk and try to learn. |

Welcome! Getting into coffee roasting can be quick, easy, and inexpensive, yet still have outstanding results. I started 15 years ago with an air popcorn maker, then switched to a heat gun/stainless bowl. I’ve been using the same heat gun for 14 years now and enjoy superb coffee every day. The folks in this forum can help you improve your cup; just ask!

Howdy from Georgia! Just get a cast iron skillet and roast on the stove. Make sure you have a good vent hood though! If you can't handle the smoke indoors, do it outside. It took me three tries before I got it right when I first started. First batch was underroasted, second batch was overroasted, and third batch was delicious. My daughter filmed the first good batch: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
