Roast Color Meter

1/2 Pounder Posts: 243 Joined: December 07, 2018	Here's a new tool I've been using to understand my roasts better. Not only has it been really fun to use, but it's also amazing how much insight the roast number can give you about your roasting! The readout is in the Agtron scale... very interesting indeed, learning how the drop temperature relates to the end color, which relates directly to the final coffee flavor. This is now allowing me to compare bean-to-bean variances, and how the drop temperatures may or may not have the same desired final flavor/color. The brains of the operation came from public, open-sourced code based on the popular "roast vision" color meter that is no longer available. A shout-out and thank you to the software programmer(s). I wanted to build the original tool, but there seemed to be many areas that could be improved on. So I worked on a new, ergonomic, user-friendly body for a while. This is iteration 3 of the new roast color meter. CK attached the following image: Technivorm Moccamaster, French Press, Aeropress GO, Ibrik, Moka pot, Breville Barista Express, Urbanic070s/Slant Grinder, Breville SGP, Roaster908, DIY Roast Meter

I'm not entirely happy with the way it's supposed to work and I'm not that far into it, but I did purchase all the hardware except for the Android phone (I have one laying around, but it's too old to use for the project). Please give source details for the innards. Thanks...
