Nordics Best Roaster Competition - February

BTW, what is the definition of “Nordic-style” roasting — aside from some vague association with lightness... Shock Grin

The competition coffees will be available to buy from the coffee shop KaffeBox.no.

I too have had a difficult time determining what "Nordic" style roasting is. I've seen articles describing it as Scandinavian/Nordic darker roasts and more recently, ultra light with just enough time into first crack as to eliminate super sour undeveloped notes. I think most folks these days associate it with the "attempt" to bring out as much varietal definition with attention to bringing out herbal, spice and fruit notes with careful attention to keeping acidity as low as possible to not cause face and mouth shrinkage Shock

I just had to post this beautiful display of their cult-like fawning over their obsession with so-called sustainability.

SUSTAINABILITY
Our goal is to be the most sustainable coffee festival in the world, not just talk about it. We believe that if we can’t produce an event without causing damage to the environment, people and community around it, then it’s not worth doing.

HOW ARE WE GOING TO DO IT?
We have a multi-layer strategy to make substantive changes to how events are produced.

We will work hard to reduce any and all inputs into the waste chain before they appear.

Putting a financial cost on unsustainable behaviour.

Making it easy and intuitive to be more sustainable.

Measure Everything, evaluate and improve.
